Electrically Conductive Fabric over Foam - EFO


Aerobon EFOF products provide excellent EMI shielding solutions. The flexible foam provide cushioning function. Optional non-conductive or conductive pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape with a release liner (ERL) is offered. Product profile can be made into rectangle, D-shape, C-shape, P-shape, T-shape, knife and bell shape, and can be further customized for different applications through die cutting, perforating, grooving etc. EFOF contains no halogen, and is RoHS and REACH compliant.

EFOF EMI Lining Design Guidance

The recommended depth-width ratio of the lining is smaller than 1.5; it's better to be smaller than 1.0 (namley, the width is ≥ the height).
The minimum width of the lining is usually 2mm.
The fabric of FOF EMI lining has a lap joint at the bottom; usually, the lap width is 1-2mm.
The ideal compression ratio of FOF EMI lining is 25% to 40%. This ensures the scope of lining compression required can be satisfied all the way in the application. Over-compression may cause the performance damage and lining life to be shortened.
It's suggested that during transport and handling, EMI lining shall be protected from improper squeeze.
It's suggested the width of the bottom non-conductive PSA is 50% of the lining width. If conductive PSA is used, the width of PSA can be 85% of the lining width.
PSA can be in the middle, on the side or in other positions under the lining.

 

Shelf Life and Storage Conditions

Shelf life is one year from the date of shipping. Parts should be stored in a sealed bag and stored in a temperature of 0-40℃. No specific humidity control required.
